Hi Dolph, Received your mail with advice, what can I say …… Fantastic, that’s the retort, the website and the bloke. MASSIVE thanks! Shame Oz is so far from BG, I would’ve certainly been there on sign-up night, to see ‘EVE’ boot-up and the master at work. You’ll have to go global fella …. put Bulgaria on the list. Thanks for your effort mate, it’s inspiring. Dave

    Thankyou Dave,
I will take your advice and get a good video going of the Maiden Voyage so everyone no mater where they are on Mother Earth can look/learn and get passionate about biochar. Let’s all do it in a responsible fashion and before we know it Shazam Peace on Earth. A big Thankyou to all souls who made this happen and to all souls who want to look after Mother Earth and Mankind : )

Great Stu, We could sure use a permi around here we have to set up 2 hectares of Biochar Trial areas for massive food tests,
In return for your permi insights I will personally assist you to become a Charmaster through Biochar Learning Circles and the Bush Mechanics Institute. So good to hear from you Stu I will ring you but just understand out here in the Forest there is no connection so it will be when I go to town once a week : )

Is there a possibility of a mobile adam retort?I have a huge supply of timber to burn, thousands of tonnes, over 7000hectares and wish to make biochar and return it to the soil.

  • Charmaster June 17, 2012, 8:39 pm

Of course there is : ) I think New England Biochar makes mobile adam retorts.
I am thinking thou you may need more than an adam retort mobile.
think about it 1 ton of char a day or so may take you several life times to get through 7k acres
I am sure there is a way of doing it thou.

It is shocking, to say the least, that Dr. Taylor is the sole licensee for the Adam retort Biochar kilns in Australia. It is the antithesis of humanitarian work. It’s quite audacious also to think that a Dr. is the only one who could add meaningful contributions to the design. If the schematics were made open source, the improvements on the design would be a million fold and in half the time. I’m not sure who this Adam guy is, but he clearly doesn’t get it.

  • sege January 14, 2017, 1:32 am

    Dolph,
congratulation on putting this together, I was thinking building some retort, after research i found this maybe pretty reasonable, did you have any drawing plan for this or more specification on how to build it.
thank you for sending any information
    sege
